It is your responsibility to report problems in your rental unit. If something goes unreported and get worse you may be responsible for the repairs and damage. If you broke it, it is better to report it and get it repaired, even if you have to pay for it, than to let things go and get a bigger bill later.
Items that are particularly common are:
Roof leaks, running toilets, plumbing leaks under sinks, water dripping off the roof from a cooler…..you get the picture.
